„Are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet ever the same? The steady movement keeps me from knowing…“
Viewing an ever-changing familiar landscape, the long-term project ROYGBIV focuses on the oblique and wistful feeling that occurred when re-visiting my homeland. The series attempts to unravel what it means to feel connected while at the same time being distanced. ROYGBIV explores this ambiguous connection to the landscapes and personalities that are a part of this liminal place. The title is an abbreviation for the colors of the rainbow, an optical sensation that often kept reoccurring during the many summers spent at home. When seeing a rainbow the impression depends on the position of the viewer with every step the pattern changes slightly. Therefore no to people will ever see the same arch in the sky.
