I Just wanna be my Selfie - oder: Wie die Authentizität das Authentische gefressen hat und warum sie es wieder ausspucken muss

The result of the critical reflection on the topic is on the one hand an essayistic text that tries to approach the lead questions by investigating current philosophical positions. On the other hand that investigation also took place within a practical, visual method out of which several audio-visual works resulted. All of this components are meant to be seen as one whole artistic process of reflecting the concepts of authenticity and self-representaion.

Is there a social pressure asking for artistic authenticity and if so - how can one escape? In what way does it affect my artistic production if I permanently feel like having to know my place, evaluate and produce myself?

„I Just wanna be my Selfie - oder: Wie die Authentizität das Authentische gefressen hat und warum sie es wieder ausspucken muss“ is an artistic research project trying to critically analyse the principles of authenticity regarding the artist subject.
